I replaced the steps with new on that are more realistic. I replaced all the grab irons except the ones on the ends of the car. The new grab irons are scale size.

The caboose has bushman metal wheels and jade couplets. I have lightly weathered the car to show some usage. The caboose was designed for use on a timber hauling railroad.

It has a water tank for track side fire suppression in the right side of the cupola filled by exposed inlet that can be seen in the rear view of the car.
