Thanks, Mike. I briefly test ran this bright strong engine on my layout and the motor, headlamp, remote functions, smoke unit sounds all worked great. The remote is also used for engine speed and direction. That said, this engine does require a remote to run, there is no conventional transformer option.

This engine comes with the tender, specific remote, spare tire, small bottle of smoke fluid and original set instruction book. The sounds do not require any transformer controls to activate as these are activated using the remote.
